About the Artist
My paintings are an exploration of imagination, playfulness, and reflection. Working primarily in acrylics, I approach the canvas as a space for spontaneity—where structure and freedom coexist. While my professional life began in computer science and later in landscape architecture, it is painting that now fully engages my creative energy. In many ways, this return to art feels like a rediscovery of the creative spark I felt as a child, now expressed with the depth of a lifetime’s experience. Those earlier professions inform my work, but they no longer define it; instead, they provide a quiet undercurrent of structure and precision that balances the fluidity of paint.
In my practice, I am drawn to contrasts—discipline and improvisation, clarity and ambiguity, humor and seriousness. Each canvas becomes a dialogue between intention and surprise, a process that often yields compositions full of movement and lightness. Viewers frequently describe my paintings as joyful, energetic, and uplifting, qualities that I value deeply as both an artist and a human being.
At the heart of my work is the Japanese concept of ikigai, or “a reason for being.” For me, painting is both a daily practice and a lifelong path, uniting passion, craft, and meaning. My goal is to create work that resonates with delight and connection, offering others the same sense of vitality I experience in making it.
I paint and live in St. Petersburg, Florida, with my husband, Luciano, and our senior toy poodle, Sir Windsor Wigglebottom.
